Apple Pay is a mobile payment service by Apple Inc. that allows users to make payments in person, in iOS apps, and on the web. It is supported on iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac. The service digitizes and replaces physical card payments with a secure, contactless checkout experience.
In Frisbii, merchants can enable Apple Pay under Configuration → Checkout Management → Payment Methods by adding an Apple Pay agreement.
Setting up Apple Pay in Frisbii
The process is simple and consists of a few steps:
In Frisbii Admin, open Configuration → Checkout Management → Payment Methods.
Scroll down to Apple Pay under the Mobile Payments section.
Enter your display name and optional configuration fields.
(Optional) Verify your domain if you are embedding Apple Pay in your own checkout.
Click Create to activate Apple Pay.
👉 Continue with the setup guide below to configure Apple Pay for your store.
⚠️ Important: Remember that you must have an active card acquiring agreement enabled for credit card payments in order for Apple Pay to work. Apple Pay relies on underlying card transactions, which is why an active acquiring agreement is required.
Step 1: Go to the configuration area
In Frisbii, navigate to Configuration → Checkout Management → Payment Methods.
Scroll to the Apple Pay section under Mobile Payments and click to open it.
Step 2: Add your Apple Pay configuration
In the setup form, fill out the following fields:
Display name: Enter the name of your shop as it should appear to customers using Apple Pay.
Merchant management URL: (Optional) Add the link to the page where customers can manage their recurring payment methods, if available.
Webhooks enabled: Toggle this on to receive live updates when customers update or remove a saved Apple Pay payment method. This ensures recurring payments stay up to date if a card is replaced or expires.
Domains: (Optional) Add your own domain if you plan to use Apple Pay inside an embedded or iframe-based checkout. This allows Apple Pay buttons to appear across all pages under that domain.
If you’re using Frisbii Hosted Checkout, you don’t need to add or verify a domain - Apple Pay works automatically.

Step 3: Domain verification (only for embedded checkouts)
If you plan to use Apple Pay within your own embedded or iframe checkout, Apple requires domain verification.
Click Download Domain Verification File and host it at the following location on your website:https://[DOMAIN_NAME]/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association
Example: If your domain is
checkout.example.com, the file must be publicly accessible athttps://checkout.example.com/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association
If you’re using Frisbii Hosted Checkout, you can skip this step - domain verification is not needed.
Step 4: Create and activate
Once all relevant fields are filled in, click Create.
If a custom domain is included, Frisbii will automatically verify it with Apple before activation.
If verification succeeds (or if you’re using hosted checkout), Apple Pay will be enabled for your store.
Step 5: Test your Apple Pay setup
After activation, test your Apple Pay setup to ensure it’s working correctly.
Apple Pay works on iPhone and iPad in Safari and other browsers (such as Chrome, Edge, and Firefox) on iOS/iPadOS 16 or newer.
On Mac, Apple Pay is supported in Safari.
If customers use another desktop browser on Mac or Windows, they can still complete an Apple Pay purchase by scanning a code with their iPhone or iPad to authorize the payment.
When all requirements are met, Apple Pay will appear as a payment option in checkout.
Troubleshooting: Why does Apple Pay not show up?
If Apple Pay does not appear in your checkout, verify the following:
You are using a supported Apple device (iPhone, iPad, or Mac).
You are on a supported browser: Safari or another browser on iOS/iPadOS 16+, or Safari on Mac.
You are located in a supported country or region.
Your card acquiring agreement supports Apple Pay.
(For embedded setups only) The domain verification file is correctly hosted and publicly accessible.
Setup complete ✅
Your Apple Pay configuration is now active in Frisbii. You can start accepting payments through Apple Pay immediately.
