# Credit an invoice

> Note
> 
> Credit notes can only be created for subscription invoices.
> 
> The credit is applied to the next regular invoice.

The credit notes can be found in the credit notes list via [**Payments → Credit Notes**](/frisbii/docs/credit-notes-interface).

Follow these steps to credit an invoice:

## Via customer

1. In the navigation bar, click on **Customers** → **Customers** and click on the customer.
2. In the **Invoices** box, click on the **Invoice** to be credited.
3. In the Invoice box, click on **Credit**.
4. You can change the description and amount of the order line. You can only credit the amount available.

## Via invoices table

1. In the navigation bar, click on **Payments** → **Invoices** and filter for the invoice you want to credit.
2. Click on the invoice in the table to open it.
3. In the Invoice box, click on **Credit**.
4. You can change the description and amount of the order line. You can only credit the amount available.

## Via Subscriptions

1. In the navigation bar, click on **Subscriptions** and filter for the subscription for which invoice should be credited.
2. Click on the subscription.
3. Scroll down to the Invoices box and click on the invoice to be credited.
4. In the Invoice box, click on **Credit**.
5. You can change the description and amount of the order line. You can only credit the amount available.
