While this new product is branded as **Vipps MobilePay** for merchants, end users continue to use their familiar MobilePay or Vipps apps, so the customer experience remains unchanged compared to the old MobilePay Online and Vipps payment methods. In Frisbii, merchants can enable Vipps MobilePay under **Configuration → Payment Methods** by adding a Vipps MobilePay agreement. **Epayments vs. MobilePay Online** - **MobilePay Online & Vipps (old):** Card-based solutions, requiring an acquiring agreement and involving multiple intermediaries such as acquirers, processors, card schemes, and banks. - **Vipps MobilePay Epayments (new):** Account-to-account transactions using the ePayment APIs, requiring only an agreement with Vipps MobilePay. This shift streamlines the payment process, reduces costs, and leads to fewer declined transactions. --- ### **Account-to-account transactions** Unlike the traditional MobilePay Online and Vipps solutions, which were card-based, Vipps MobilePay Epayments uses direct **account-to-account transactions**. No acquirer or card network is required, only the bank is involved. This makes the payment flow more **efficient, reliable, and cost-effective** for merchants. In addition, Vipps MobilePay also offers a recurring option: - **Vipps MobilePay Recurring**, designed specifically for managing recurring online payments and subscriptions. --- ### **Managing multiple Vipps MobilePay agreements** If you have multiple Vipps MobilePay agreements in your Frisbii account, you can control which one is used for each transaction by applying the **Vipps MobilePay Agreement Filter** in Frisbii Checkout. Use the `vipps_epayment_filter` parameter and specify the agreement ID you want to use. **Example:** ```plaintext "vipps_epayment_filter": "7017c40ece694a856fac8ecb03c6bcb" ``` --- ### **How Vipps MobilePay works** 1. **Customer selects their payment method** In Frisbii Checkout (opened by the merchant’s website or app), the customer will see **MobilePay Online** if the currency is DKK or **Vipps** if the currency is NOK. - If the Checkout session is configured with Vipps MobilePay as the only payment method, the customer is redirected directly to MobilePay or Vipps based on the currency. 2. **Customer enters their phone number and logs in** - If initiated on a **mobile device**, the Vipps or MobilePay app opens automatically. - If initiated on a **desktop device**, a landing page appears where the customer enters their phone number and logs in. 3. **Customer confirms the payment** A push notification is sent to the customer’s phone. They log in to the Vipps or MobilePay app and confirm the payment. 4. **The merchant’s shop confirms the order** Once the payment is confirmed, the customer is redirected back to the merchant’s website or app where the order status is updated. 5. **The merchant completes the order** The merchant fulfills the order as normal. 6. **Capture the payment** The payment is captured in Frisbii (unless “instant settle” was used in the Checkout session). Funds are then transferred to the merchant’s bank account, typically within **2–3 days**, depending on the bank. --- ### **Next steps: Setting up Vipps MobilePay in Frisbii** Now that you understand how **Vipps MobilePay Epayments** works, the next step is to **set up your agreement in Frisbii**.
