Linda, Candace and Axel have seen together the Subscriptions creation from scratch or from another object.
Now Linda wants to show how to generate invoices from a subscription.
(1) The subscription billing schedule generation can be performed several times to update the draft invoices. Each time a new subscription billing schedule is generated, all draft invoices are deleted and replaced by new draft invoices.
In order to avoid this deletion, you can use the pre-validated status so that the pre-validated invoices are locked and not deleted. Here is an article on this subject:
(2) If you subscription is large (many occurrences, a lot of subscription line item), please read this article:
Subscription billing schedule generation
Linda starts with the billing schedule generation from a subscription. Here are the steps to follow.
Steps
Go to the Subscription tab.
Open a record.
Click on the button Create schedule.

The Subscription Management screen contains a recap of the current subscription.
To confirm, click on Confirm.
Then you find the generated invoices in the related list Invoices. You can click on View All.

You can see all the invoices related to the subscription and order them by any columns:

Activate a subscription
After creation, the subscription is in Draft status. This status allows you to make changes and finalize the subscription. Once you have made the changes, activate the subscription.
Steps
Go to your draft subscription.
Click on the Activate button to modify the field Status.

In the Subscription Management screen, you can check the main field before confirming the activation.
Note: the status Activate is equivalent to the Issued status on the invoices because it locks some of the fields.
By activating the subscription, you confirm that it has the right basic information: account, corporate name, opportunity, start date, start date on the invoicing period, initial end date, frequency, price book, currency and index.
This information will not be modifiable once the subscription is activated and it will not be possible to change an activated subscription back to draft status.
After clicking on Confirm, the subscription is activated and the field Status is updated.
