# Terminate a subscription

Linda explains to Axel that, in the same way that **Start Date** and **End Date** are taken into account when creating subscriptions, ending a subscription depends on the duration of the subscription and therefore the initial End Date. Once this duration has expired, the status of the subscription record remains set to *Active*, even if its end date has passed.

You have the option of changing the **status** of the subscription to *Completed*, using the automated processes.

## How to terminate a subscription

**Important:** Once you have changed the subscription status to *Completed*, it's impossible to change it back to *Activated*. Make sure in advance that the operation is performed on the correct subscription, because even our support team can not help you to reverse the action. In order to terminate the subscription, you need to follow the following procedure:

### Steps

1. Go to the **Subscriptions** tab.
2. Open the subscription in question.
3. Change the **Status** field to *Completed*.

1. Save.
