Vijay Lahiri, the developer of Cloud Kicks, asks Linda, the Frisbii administrator, how they can arrange for his three-month parental leave following the birth of his son.
He proposes to give his Frisbii licence to his colleague Radha Malik.
Linda asks about the procedure for reallocating licences and the necessary permission sets.
Reassigning Frisbii rights to another user
Before getting started, Linda, as a good Frisbii administrator, first checks the following points:
- Does Vijay use custom fields in Frisbii objects (Invoice/ Quotation/ Subscription...) for which rights are managed from his profile?
- Are there any specific page layouts that Vijay can access from his profile?
- Does Radha have access to the same accounts as Vijay, as visibility on invoices depends on access to accounts?
Then she gives the same rights to Radha so that he can take over Vijay's duties.
Note:
Reassigning the licence and permission sets from one user to another can take a few hours or even a day. This is a safety feature to avoid too many changes between users.
An Administrator profile is required to change licences and permission sets.
Please note!
To prevent caching problems, the user who receives the new rights must log out of his org and log back in.
Changing licenses
First, Linda will assign Vijay's license to Radha by following this process:
Steps
Click on Setup.
In the quick search bar, type packages.
Click on Installed packages.
Click on Manage licenses in the Frisbii package.
Click on the Remove multiple users button, select Vijay Lahiri and click on Remove.
Click on the Add users button.
In the new page, select the user to whom you want to assign the licence.
Click on the Add button.
Assign permission sets to the new user
After assigning the license to Radha, Linda takes care of the permission sets. She first checks in Vijay's user by following this procedure:
Steps
Click on Setup.
In the quick search bar, type users.
Click on Users.
Click on the user name.
5. Move your mouse over Permission Set Assignments.
6. Click on the Edit Assignments button.
7. Select the Activated Permission Set(s) for Frisbii.
8. Click on Remove.
9. Save.
10. Go back to Users.
11. Click on the name of the user you want to assign permission sets to.
12. Move your mouse over Permission Set Assignments.
13. Click on the Edit Assignments button.
14. Select the permission set(s) you want to assign.
15. Click on Add.
16. Save.
Now Radha has the right set of permissions!
