There are two ways to use the schedule template.
- Either you set up milestones, which allows a more refined management adapted to the needs of your customer, possible for both types of schedule (billing and payments),
- Or you use the start and end dates on the invoice and then the frequency field in the schedule template, available only for payment schedules.
In the following article we will explain the procedure to set them up.

The milestones allow you to choose the percentage of the amount including VAT:
of the invoice for the payment to be created, or
of the quotation / opportunity to be applied on the partial invoice to be created.
You can also decide the gap (number of days/months/years) that should be applied between the current milestone and its reference milestone (initial milestone or previous milestone).
The use of milestones therefore gives you great flexibility.
Schedule without milestones
If you decide not to use the milestones, the frequency chosen on the schedule in question will be applied to the dates indicated on the invoice (for the payment schedule):

The generated settlements are distributed in an equal manner.
Example:
| Type | Payment |
| Initial Amount incl. taxes | 1200,00€ |
| Start date | 01/01/2020 |
| End Date | 31/03/2020 |
| Frequency | Mensuelle |
| Result | 3 Règlements attendus |
| Amount incl. taxes per payment | 400,00€ |
Caution:
The frequency must be adapted to the invoicing period chosen in the invoice.
If you choose an annual periodicity for a one month invoicing period, only one payment will be created.
For billing or payment schedules, you can create milestones to complete the schedule template.
