Generate a quotation

Candace has done her homework on the Trailhead modules and Salesforce articles. She recommends that new Cloud Kicks recruits take these modules before learning more about Frisbii.

To understand the setup of opportunities and opportunity products, she recommends reading these Salesforce modules:

But now Candace herself wants to better understand Frisbii's functionality before giving more lessons to the new recruits at Cloud Kicks.

Opportunities and Quotations

First, Candace wants to know what is the point of using both objects at the same time.
Linda tells her what she learned in a Frisbii webinar:

You can use the quotations and opportunities simultaneously, in order to :

  • Use the opportunities as a portfolio of several quotations.

  • Respond to tenders and/or large projects.

  • Issue delivery notes.

  • Make a consolidated report at the opportunity level, synchronized with several offers.

  • Generate a PDF from the quotation.

Which fields are overtaken from the quotation

Candace is concerned about whether all the fields are then filled in correctly on the quotation.
Her two colleagues run a test, here's the result:

Generate a quotation from an opportunity

Candace is already familiar with the Salesforce object. Now she and Linda are slowly discovering the Frisbii features.
Linda recommends her to check if all Frisbii features are well implemented: First steps in Frisbii - Adding Frisbii to your org. She then checks with Candace to see if all the buttons are available. Finally, she explains to her how to generate a quotation from an opportunity.

Steps

  1. Go to the Opportunity tab.

  2. Open the concerned opportunity.

  3. Click on the button Create quotation.

  4. In the window Create a quotation from the current opportunity? click on Confirm.

  5. Then you will find yourself in the Quotation tab in the quotation you just created:

Synchronisation of the two objects

Candace wants to know what happens if she changes one of the two records. Does she have to make the change on both objects every time?
Linda tells her how to synchronize the two objects.
Here is the article about it: Quotations - Synchronisation with opportunities.
