# Case study

We will first review the definition in the article [Periodic distributions - Field dictionary](/frisbii-app/docs/en/répartitions-périodiques-dictionnaire-de-champs).
- Periodic distribution consists of distributing the value of an invoice line item over the months covered by that line.
- The value is distributed in a prorated way, according to the Start date and the End date.
- In Frisbii, the periodic distribution is a child object of the invoice line item.
## Function activation
You can activate it from the Corporate Name.
### Steps
1. Go to the Corporate Name for which you wish to activate the functionality.
2. Check the box Enable Periodic Distributions.

## Test the generation of periodic distribution lines
To test the correct functioning of the periodic distribution, an invoice must be issued. Please find here the articles to follow:
- [Invoices - Creating an invoice ex-nihilo or from another object](/frisbii-app/docs/en/factures-cloner-une-facture)
- [Invoices - Issuing, creating PDFs and sending](/frisbii-app/docs/en/factures-émission-création-de-pdf-et-envoi)
Once these actions have been completed, you will find the periodic distribution records on the Invoice Line items related list.

## Report on periodic distributions
You can create a report to get more visibility on your periodic distribution records.
Here we take the example of an Accounts report with invoices and invoice line items.
### Steps
1. Go to Reports.
2. Create a report using the report type Accounts with invoices and invoice line items.
3. Add columns:
- Record name (periodic distribution)
- Units per period
- Account name
- Invoice name
- Invoice line item name

Note: To customise your report, you can also add filters and refine the results of the report.
This is the Salesforce module for Reports.
## Exporting periodic distributions
Once you have created your report, you can export it in CSV, XLS or XLSX format.
### Steps
1. Go to Reports.
2. Open your report.
3. Click on Export.
###
That's it! You now know how to export your periodic distribution records!
