Linda has set up the product configurations. She still needs to create product rules and apply them to the products to complete this step.
Implementation of product rules
Activate the option
First, Linda needs to enable the option on the Corporate Name, so that the product rules are automatically applied to the products in the quotation items and invoice lines. Let's follow the procedure with her.
Steps
- Go to the Corporate Name tab > Options section.
- Check the box Detect product rules.
Set up of product rules
After enabling the option, Linda configures product rules. Let's see how she proceeds from the product rules tab, which you can open through the application launcher.
Steps
Click on New.
Fill in the requested information.
Beware: You notice that the field product configuration is mandatory, you can select your previously created product configuration.
Click on Save.
Apply product rules
A product rule will be automatically applied, if :
- a product configuration has been applied to the quotation or invoice, and
- a rule exists for the pair product configuration <> product.
Example :
The product configuration Abroad is associated to the Arsenal account, a product rule in this configuration is associated to the product sneakers with a 0% VAT rate. When creating an invoice line or a quotation item for the account Arsenal containing the product sneakers the product rule is automatically applied and thus the VAT rate of 0% will also be filled in.
Beware:
(1) Do not forget to create the product rules when you create a new product.
(2) Don't forget either, when creating a new account, to associate it with a product configuration.
(3) Our product rules application system is only available on the objects: Quotation, Subscription and Invoice.
