# API.261104-MINOR

## 🐛 Fix

**PLEN-12229**: French VAT IDs containing the digit 0 after the country code, for example FR0A448531236, were rejected even though the EU VIES service confirms them as valid, while the same ID with the letter O was wrongly accepted. VAT ID validation now follows VIES in Checkout, the Frisbii Media Merchant Backend and Self Service: the valid variant is accepted, the invalid one is rejected.

## 🔧 Change

**Expired access rights no longer reduce the metered quota** When the quota of a metered access right was counted down, every item the customer held for that access right was deducted, expired items included. Customers who had repurchased a product therefore used up their quota twice as fast. Expired items are now ignored, so one call deducts one unit.

**Payment page no longer waits for the payment provider** The payment page now renders without preparing a wallet payment in advance. Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link are only prepared once a customer actually chooses one of them, so slow responses from the payment provider no longer lead to error pages on the payment step. If a payment method the customer selected cannot be initialised, the payment selection is shown again with a short message instead of an error page.
