Preliminary Remarks

In this article we will show you how to connect your WordPress instance to the plenigo backend by installing the plenigo connector.

The Wordpress Connector establishes the connection between your Wordpress instance and the plenigo application without any programming effort. It offers a wide range of functions to protect content via a paywall and make products purchasable via a checkout.

In addition to your WordPress account, you need a plenigo account in which you can create your offers. In addition, the functionality of the Wordpress Connector requires the use of plenigo SSO. In addition to plenigo access, you need active accounts with payment service providers such as Stripe, PayOne, PayPal or Amazon Pay to make your products available to order in the checkout for a fee.

Registration and installation of the plugin

To install the connector, go to the plugin tab (2) on the left-hand side. A list of all installed plugins is now displayed. To then install the connector, click on the "Install" tab (3).

On the following page, click on the "Upload plugin" button (1). A window will now appear in which you can select a file (2). Now drag and drop the unpacked plenigo ZIP file (3) and click on the "Install now" button (4).

After a while, the connector will be installed and you can click on "Activate plugin" to activate the connector.

This will now take you back to the previous page and you can see that the plenigo Connector is listed . In addition, a plenigo tab has been added on the left-hand side.

Link to the backend

In the"Info" tab of the WordPress Connector you will find technical documentation on the most important settings of the WordPress Connector.

The link between the Wordpress Connector and the plenigo system via API is configured under the"Settings" tab.

The following information is required:

Desired system to be linked (Stage or Live)
the company ID of the client to be linked
an active API token for the desired client

To find out the"Company-ID" and the"Access Token", please log in to the plenigo Merchant Backend. There, click on"Settings (1)" in the menu on the side. Then click on the sub-item"API access token (2)". Then click on"Create new API token (3)".

On the page that appears, you can give the API token a"Name (1)" a"Description (optional) (2)", define the"Access rights (3)" and define the"Applications (4)" select. You can also set when the API token"expires (optional) (5)". Now click on the"Save (6)" button.

If you now click on "Details" in the overview and copy the token, you can paste it into your WordPress page.

To find out the company ID, go back to the plenigo backend. Here you copy the number and number sequence from the URL.

You can insert this under the item"Company ID". Now click on"Save changes".

Click on"Yes" under"Checkout" to activate the CHeckout function and display further settings. Below you can define the endpoints on your WordPress site if they differ from the default. Under"Access rights", if the customer already has access rights, they are forwarded to the"Already purchased" endpoint. Under"Other" you can define the initial screen for your user and decide whether they should always start with the login or registration screen. Then click on"Save changes".

Now activate the"Paywall". Here you can define the position of the paywall on the WordPress site if it differs from the default. You can also change the appearance of the paywall using HTML . Now click on"Save changes".

You can specify how the double opt-in procedure should be carried out for your users under the "SSO" tab. The registration confirmation can be carried out either by token or e-mail. These options relate to the use of plenigo SSO. If an external SSO system is used, the SSO settings have no function here.

Under the"Advanced" tab, you can define the type of error logs using the drop-down menu. The error logs are currently written to the database table. Ultimately, you can decide whether the data is deleted during uninstallation. If you now click on"Save changes", the data will be synchronized with the plenigo backend.
