Preliminary Remarks
Paywalls protect certain content on a website, which can only be made visible by completing a purchase.
This article explains how paywalls can be easily created and used. The prerequisite for using paywalls is the integration of the iFrame in the WordPress Connector, as well as the activation of the paywalls and the checkout in the settings of the Frisbii Media plugin.
In addition to access to the WordPress account, it requires access to the Frisbii Media backend, in which offers and access rights can be created.
Creating paywalls
The layout for the paywall can be defined directly in the WordPress Connector. The Frisbii Media plugin has its own sub-item Paywalls for this purpose. After initial installation, the standard paywall is already stored there. This is still empty and can be filled in by clicking on "Edit".
First an internal title (1) is assigned in the editor and then the paywall HTML code (2) is entered in the HTML field. Access rights must be entered manually in the access rights (3) field and cannot be selected via the drop-down menu. The uniqueIDs of the corresponding access rights are entered in the field.
Note: The uniqueIDs can be changed in the Frisbii Media backend. These are not synchronized again in the WordPress plugin after a change. To ensure that customers with the old uniqueID and new customers with the new ID have access to the content protected behind the paywall, both access rights must be stored and taken into account. It is therefore not recommended to rename access rights if there are already active subscriptions.

By clicking on "Save", the paywall is created and can be assigned to posts, categories or keywords in the next step and protect the content behind it.

Inserting the created paywalls
Created paywalls can be defined at keyword, category or post level. This simplifies the administration of the website.
Note: posts can be assigned to specific categories and keywords, the paywalls are then managed in a separate step.
Paywalls at post level
To display paywalls only at post level, first select the desired post in the post overview. The corresponding paywall can then be stored there.

A default position for the paywall is predefined in the menu item Settings under the tab Paywall. This can be changed globally in the settings as required or overwritten directly in the relevant post using the paywall shortcode .
Paywalls at category and keyword level
Posts can be assigned to specific keywords or categories . The central maintenance of paywalls for categories or keywords makes it easier to replace paywalls, as they do not have to be stored and replaced individually in the posts.
New categories and keywords can be defined in the WordPress backend under the menu item Posts > Categories / Keywords . Existing ones can be managed there.

Categories and keywords are created in the same way. A paywall can be assigned to a category or keyword using the drop-down menu - by clicking on create, the respective category or keyword is created and can then be assigned to individual posts.
