Restrictions on sales rules

Preliminary Remarks

Sales rules control complex processes within the checkout. Automation and scaling must be possible at all times. Certain restrictions therefore apply to the various sales rules.

There is also a priority or sequence according to which these rules are applied if several rules are to be executed.

Prioritization:

  1. Misuse rules

  2. Up-/Down-Selling

  3. Age-related rules

  4. Cross-selling

Misuse rules

  • are always carried out first. Only then are other sales rules applied, if applicable.

  • must already be assigned to an offer at the time of purchase. If the misuse rule is only subsequently assigned to an offer, the rule does not apply to purchases made up to that point.

Age-related rules

  • cannot be used with an offer that already occurs in a cross-selling.

Cross-selling

  • can only be used for time-based and credit-based subscriptions.

  • cannot be used with an offer in different up/down-selling.

  • cannot be used with an offer that already occurs in an age-related rule.

Up-/Down-Selling

  • can only be used for time-based subscriptions.

  • deactivates the check whether the offer has already been purchased (misuse rule).

  • cannot be used in conjunction with shopping carts.

  • cannot be used with voucher offers.
