# Step 1: Create Paypal Business Account

## Preliminary Remarks

In order to link PayPal with the Frisbii Media Merchant Backend, a PayPal Business account must be created.

PayPal [provides extensive resources](https://www.paypal.com/de/smarthelp/article/wie-er%C3%B6ffne-ich-ein-paypal-konto-faq963) for activating an account.

## Create PayPal Business Account

- Go to the following link: [https://www.paypal.com/de/home](https://www.paypal.com/de/home)
- Click on **Sign Up**.
- Select **Business**.
- Fill in the registration form.
- Go through the account activation wizard. This step can also be skipped and carried out at a later time.
- Open the registration e-mail in your e-mail inbox.
- Click on the link to verify your e-mail address.

The business account has been successfully created.

> **Note:** The slider can be used to switch between **sandbox** and **live data**.

## Create Rest API

For the **stage system** in the Frisbii Media Merchant Backend, the API must be created in **sandbox mode**. For the **live system** in the Frisbii Media Merchant Backend, the API must be created in **live mode**.

1. Call up the following URL: [https://developer.paypal.com/dashboard/applications](https://developer.paypal.com/dashboard/applications)
2. Click on **Apps & Credentials**.
3. Click on **Create App**.
4. Assign **App Name**.
5. Click on **Create App** to save the app.

The **API credentials** for API calls and transactions can now be called up in the details.
