Preliminary Remarks
With credit-based subscriptions, the customer can purchase so-called credits. A credit has a certain monetary value that can be used to purchase products, for example for reading individual articles or issues of periodicals, webinar series with a selection option and similar.
There are 3 different types of credit-based subscription.
Automatic top-up as soon as the credit is used up.
External credit top-up via API call.
Time-based top-up, where the credit is topped up at regular intervals.
A product contract must be created before the offer is created.
A wallet must be added to all subscriptions.
This can be created either before or during the offer creation process using the in-line element.
Create a credit-based subscription
Click on + Create offer.
Click on + Create a credit-based subscription.
Fill in all standard fields in the offer creation.
Also fill in the following fields:
Select wallet* .
Determine the Recharge Type*.
automatic recharge upon depletion
externally triggered recharge
time based recharge
Select Product Contract* . The details of the product contract are broken down again.
Examples of credit-based subscriptions
Automatic recharge
The customer has 5 credits. He uses these 5 credits within 5 days/5 months/5 years. As soon as they are used up, the customer receives 5 credits again.
externally triggered recharge
The recharge of credits is triggered by an external event or a manual wallet action. The recharge is triggered by API call.
time based recharge
The offer includes 5 credits. These are automatically topped up once a month. Credits that have not yet been used do not expire.
A customer buys the subscription on 01.05., which includes 5 credits every month. As of 01.06. the customer has only used 1 credit. On 01.06. 5 credits will be topped up again. The customer now has a total of 9 credits.
