# Where can I assign a new password for a customer?

A customer's password can be reset in the Merchant Backend in the customer account:

- Open the corresponding customer account.
- Click on Reset password in the action bar under Manage.
- A one-time password is generated.
- The customer must enter the password in the login screen and can create a new password in the next step.
