Change a customer's plan/subscription

This guide shows you how to change a customer’s plan/subscription.

  1. In the navigation bar, click on Customers Customers.

  2. In the list, search for the customer you want to change the plan/subscription for and click on the customer.

  3. Scroll down to Subscriptions and click on the subscription you want to change.

  4. Click on Edit.

  5. In the Plan box, choose which plan the customer should have. You can see the details and conditions of the chosen plan. You can also change the price, add an add-on, update accounting information and/or change the contract terms as you see fit.

  6. Choose when the changes should apply: on next renewal or immediately.

On next renewal:

  • The current subscription interval will continue. The plan changes after the next renewal of the subscription.

  • Choose how the rest of the remaining subscription interval should be billed:

    • No billing: The rest of the period will not be billed, no invoice is created.

    • Zero amount: The rest of the period will not be billed, but an invoice is created, nevertheless, displaying zero amount.

    • Prorated: The remaining period is billed.

    • Full: The full period of the subscription is billed.

Immediate:

  • The current subscription will end immediately and the new plan comes into effect.

  • If the customer has already paid for the current subscription period, choose how the customer should be compensated:

    • do not compensate at all

    • refund prorated amount or the full amout to the customer: the amount will be refunded to their payment method

    • credit prorated amount or the full amount to the customer: the amount will be credited to the customer’s account to be used for future purchases/billing

  • Choose how the rest of the remaining subscription interval should be billed:

    • No billing: The rest of the period will not be billed, no invoice is created.

    • Zero amount: The rest of the period will not be billed, but an invoice is created, nevertheless, displaying zero amount.

    • Prorated: The remaining period is billed.

    • Full: The rest of the period is fully billed.
