🚀Here’s what’s new and improved in Frisbii Billing and Pay this week. These changes were released based on updates completed during the week of July 14th – July 18th, and packaged for publication on Monday, July 21st.
🔧 Enhancements
🔁Billing
✅ Smarter contract management
Product: Billing – Growth, Enterprise
Platform: App & API
What’s changed: Contract terms can now be managed independently from billing – giving you more flexibility, better visibility, and stronger control over how your subscriptions are structured.
Here’s what’s new in the platform:
Set contract start dates separately from billing start dates
Define initial and renewal contract periods
Apply custom notice periods per contract
Use the new ‘end on contract period’ option to automatically end subscriptions
Updated UI: contract terms, trials, and entitlements are grouped under "More Options" in the subscription editor
Visual timeline showing key lifecycle dates and changes
Why it matters:
You can now (retroactiveley) configure detailed contract structures that better reflect real-world agreements. Set clear commitment terms, align billing with legal agreements, and reduce the risk of accidental renewals or churn. These enhancements simplify admin work, improve customer clarity, and support more advanced commercial models – especially valuable for B2B subscriptions or regulated industries.
🔁 Documentation - Step-by-step guidance on changing a customer’s plan or modifying subscription details.
✅ Paid invoice status now shown on PDF
Product: Billing – Starter, Growth, Enterprise
Platform: App
What’s changed: If an invoice has already been paid, this is now clearly marked on the invoice PDF along with the payment method and payment date.
Why it matters: Makes it easier for merchants and finance teams to verify invoice status at a glance, reducing confusion and improving documentation clarity.
✅ Metadata MergeTags now supported in Prologue and Epilogue
Product: Billing - Starter, Growth, Enterprise
Platform: App
What’s changed: You can now use MergeTags to dynamically insert customer and subscription metadata into the Prologue and Epilogue of invoice and credit note PDFs. For instance, using the tags {{customer.metadata.X}} or {{subscription.metadata.X}}, where X represents the key of the key-value pair in the metadata, will show the details on your invoices and credit notes. The keys you select are case-sensitive and must be written exactly as they are set up in the Customer and Subscription records.
Why it matters: Enables smarter invoice personalization by letting you surface key customer or subscription-specific data, without manual editing – improving automation and clarity in communications.
🐞 Bug Fixes
🔁 Billing
🐛 Booking errors in the Bookeeping Export
Product: Billing – Starter, Growth, Enterprise.
Platform: App
What’s changed: Fixed an issue in the DATEV export configuration that caused incorrect booking postings and account assignments.
Why it matters: Ensures your exported bookkeeping data is accurate and aligns with your accounting setup – reducing manual corrections and audit risk.
