| Reminder: Pedro and Clara are part of the DreamHouse sales team, and want to implement index revision for their customers' subscriptions.
Their customer has taken out a 2-year subscription and will renew for another year. |
The following articles should be consulted before an index can be applied:
Applying an index
This article explains how to apply an index to the following objects:
On the subscription
The use of an index allows you to revalue the subscriptions.
Steps
1. Go to the Subscriptions tab.
2. Open the subscription on which you want to apply the index.
- Please note: the subscription must be in Draft status as the indexes should be defined when a subscription is created.
3. In the Indexes tab, retrieve your index via the Index lookup field.
4. The following fields are automatically filled in:
- Reference index date: Date used to calculate the reference index value (default = subscription start date).
- Reference index value: Relationship to the index value used as reference (automatically set by the Date for Reference Index field).
- Reference index coefficient: Reference coefficient in the calculation of the revised price (automatically set via the Reference Index Value relationship).
On the subscription line item
D'Angelo has saved the subscription changes, now he continues on the subscription line items.
Indexes may only be applied to some subscription line items and not others, depending on your business model.
Steps
1. Following the modification of the subscription, go to the subscription line items.
2. Tick the Applicable index box ?
3. Save.
Following this operation, the following information is automatically entered on the subscription line item

On the invoice line item
Pedro and Clara would also like to check the result on the invoice line items.
Steps
- From the Invoices related list of your subscription, click on one of the invoices.
- Go to one of the invoice line items.
- Check that the Applicable Index box is ticked.

- There is a subscription line item linked to this invoice line item,

Last step! Pedro and Clara want to check that the index review is working properly when they renew their subscription.
Steps
From the relevant (activated) subscription, click on the Renew button.

In the confirmation window, click on Confirm.
Open the Change orders related list:

You can already see the index applied to the change order from the related list.
