José wants to know more about the commercial discounts applicable in the Frisbii quotations.
He asks Linda to introduce them to him. She explains that two types of discounts are applicable.

It is a global discount applied to the total amount of the quotation. It is set in the section Amounts, discounts and special terms.

Here are the details of the fields to be filled in:

- Discount (%): Enter the percentage of the discount to be applied on the total amount before tax. This optional field can be displayed on the PDF.
- VAT (%) : indicates the % of VAT applied.
- Display Discount: if this box is checked, then the reason and the discount rate will be displayed on the PDF.
- Special Terms: specify in this optional field the special conditions of the quotation (displayed on the PDF).
* the PDF we mention here is the PDF of the quotation.
This section also contains fields that present useful business data:
- Amount excl. VAT before Discounts: indicates the total amount excluding VAT before application of discounts (bottom of page and/or line).
- Discount Total: indicates the cumulative value of the applied discounts (cumulative of the quotation line item discounts and the bottom line discount), in the currency of your org.
- Discount Total (%): indicates the cumulative % discount applied (cumulative of the quotation line item discounts and the bottom line discount).
- Amount excl. VAT: indicates the total amount before VAT.
- VAT Amount: indicates the amount of VAT.
- Amount incl. VAT: indicates the total amount after VAT.
Quotation line item discount
A specific discount can be applied to each quotation line item, and therefore to each product.
This discount can be defined when adding products to the quotation and then modified.

Quotation line item discounts are added to the bottom line discount.
The total amount of these discounts is shown in the Amounts, discounts and special terms section of the quotation, in the fields Discount total and Discount total (%).
José is satisfied with Linda's explanation and rushes to gather his team to show them how to apply discounts.
