💡 New

Promotion offers with a fixed end date

You can now sell promotions such as "Subscribe now and read until 31 December": on the first step of a time-based subscription offer, set an optional fixed end date. Step 1 then ends on that date for every customer, no matter when they bought, and the next step (for example the regular subscription) starts the day after. Without a second step, the subscription simply ends on that date.

Good to know:

  • Available for time-based offers whose first step is billed per period with a matching minimum term (for example monthly billing with a 1-month term). All products in the offer share the same end date.

  • Billing continues as usual until the end date. The last, shorter period is charged at the full price.

  • Purchases that would start after the end date are rejected in the checkout and in the Merchant Backend shopping cart. Once the date has passed, the offer shows a warning in the Merchant Backend.

  • Offer views, the checkout and the step label show "until 31 Dec 2026" instead of the runtime. Changing the date later only affects new purchases; existing customers keep their dates.

Find the new feature under Products → Offers → [Open offer] → Extended Offer Data → Edit End Date of the First Step.

Dissociate app purchases from a customer

In the customer view, the Manage menu now offers "Dissociate App Purchases". It unlinks the customer's Apple App Store and Google Play purchases from the customer account, so that the customer can, for example, be deleted or anonymised. The purchases stay valid in the app, and the App Store Orders tab lists them with the status "Detached".

🔧 Improved

More payment details in the Accounting Periods tab

The Accounting Periods tab in the subscription details now shows for each period how many booking tries were made and whether a payment retry is allowed. The column "Period Completed" has been renamed to "Payment Successful", which matches what it actually shows. This makes it easier to investigate failed payments without going through the transaction log.

🐛 Bug-Fixes

PLEN-11802: The active-user counter on multi-user subscriptions could show fewer active users than the user list below it and the Merchant Backend. The counter now matches the user list, so customers can see when all seats are taken. For bundled multi-user subscriptions, inviting new users is blocked exactly when the seat limit is reached.

PLEN-11981: In the cancellation flow with churn prevention, subscriptions were cancelled right after the customer selected a cancellation reason. Customers now confirm the cancellation explicitly with "Cancel my subscription" or choose to keep their subscription, and leaving the flow before confirming keeps the subscription active.

PLEN-11625: For a fixed-term subscription without a successor whose cancellation period has passed, the cancellation page asked the customer to try again when the next term begins. It now explains that the subscription ends automatically on its end date and needs no cancellation.

New language support

We now support Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and Finnish in the Self Service, Checkout and SSO.

When you have your contracting company’s language in these languages, invoices, credit notes, order confirmations and vouchers generated show all standard texts in that language, including the default terms of payment. PDFs generated already before remain unchanged. Features that do not support the new languages yet, such as e-mail templates, fall back to English.
