Preliminary Remarks
Customizable checkout variants can be created using the checkout editor. For example, separate variants can be created for individual products and subscriptions, or for B2B and B2C. Once the variants have been created, they can be assigned to the offers via the API using the variant ID.
Note: In the first step, the components such as the design, payment methods, content and addresses are configured so that they can simply be selected when creating the checkout variant.

The folder structure can be used to sort checkout variants in order to create a better overview and access the desired variants more quickly.

The creation of a checkout variant
To be able to create a variant, the components must first be configured accordingly so that they can be selected when the variant is created.
Settings
Enter an internal title and optionally assign the checkout variant to a folder.
Define the Variant Unique ID. This is required so that the variant can be retrieved via the API and offers can be assigned accordingly so that the desired variant opens when the checkout is called up.
For now, only the Standard Flow can be selected. Further flows are planned for the future.
Components (UX/UI design, payment methods, content, addresses)
The default setting is initially selected in each tab.The drop-down menu can be used to select from the previously created components.
💡Tip: If there are a large number of components, it can be easier to name them clearly. Helpful naming for the payment methods component: "Credit card, PayPal, Invoice"
Once all components have been selected, the checkout variant can be saved. It appears in the list view.
The list view
As soon as checkout variants have been created, they appear in the list view.
To view further information on the variant, these can be expanded.
Click on the variant names (highlighted in blue) to open the detailed view of the corresponding component. The default settings are also displayed, but these cannot be clicked on and opened.
The variant that is set as the default is always used in the checkout if nothing else has been defined.
Note: A checkout variant can only be deleted if it was not previously linked to any products or was not in use.
