What is needed to create an offer?

Preliminary Remarks

In order to create an offer, various offer components are required, which are ideally created before the offer is created. For some offer components, it is possible to create them in the creation form using an inline element. Some must be defined in advance.

The following section deals with the necessary components of an offer, without which an offer cannot be created, and with additional components that are available but not essential for creating an offer.

All these components can be found in the Products menu item.

Necessary components of the offer

Single Product, Time Pass and Credit-Based Single Product

The following components are required to create these offers:

The price sheet determines the price of the offer. This can be created either before or during the offer creation. The price sheet can no longer be changed after it has been saved.

The access right determines what customers who purchase the offer will have access to. This can be created either before or during the offer creation.

It must be defined in advance which offer is assigned to which tax type . The tax type can no longer be changed after saving! Everything to do with taxes can be found in the Merchant Backend under Settings > Financial> Tax Rates and Delivery Thresholds.

Price segments are not absolutely necessary. However, they are useful if different prices are to apply in different countries.

The wallet is only required for credit-based single products and represents the "wallet" that is "filled" with the credits defined in the offer.

Subscriptions

The following components are required to create subscriptions:

The product contract defines the general conditions of the subscription (cancellation period, runtime, accounting period and price). The product contract can no longer be changed after the saving process.

The same requirements apply for access rights, tax type and wallet as for the creation of a product.

The delivery list is mandatory for issue-based subscriptions so that customers who purchase the offer can be supplied with the corresponding issues.

Additional offer components

The following components may be useful for both single products (time passes and credit-based single products) and subscriptions, but are not mandatory.

A misuse rule can be assigned to an offer within the offer creation process, for example to prevent a repeat purchase of a free trial period. This must first be defined in the corresponding menu item. Accounting (cost centers and ledgers) is essential for correct bookkeeping. Cost centers and ledgers are displayed in the menu item Accounting menu item and assigned to the offer during the offer creation process.
