Create a One-Time Invoice for a Subscription

Prev Next

In addition to the recurring invoices generated for a subscription according to the billing frequency configuration, you also have the option to manually create one-time invoices.

This action generates either the invoice type “subscription one-time” or “subscription one-time instant” depending on the charge option selected in step 4.

  1. Click on Subscriptions in the sidebar and select the specific subscription for which you want to create an invoice.

  2. The Subscription Details opens. In the Invoices box, click on Create invoice.

  3. Specify a different shipping and billing address on the invoice. You can either set the shipping address to be the same as the Billing address or use a different shipping address.

  4. There are three options on how you can charge this invoice

    • Automatic: This is the default charging method and creates the invoice type “subscription one-time”. The charge will be processed according to the regular subscription billing schedule. It does not require immediate payment or postpone the charge to a specific date.

    • Instant: Requires immediate charge settlement and creates the invoice type “subscription one-time instant”. When this option is chosen, the subscription charge is processed right away instead of waiting for the usual billing cycle. This is beneficial when you need to receive payment immediately.

    • Later: Sets the charge for a specific future date/time and creates the invoice type “subscription one-time”. This allows you to delay the charge to a designated date and time in the future. When this option is selected, a date-time picker will automatically open to choose when the charge should be due.

  5. In the Invoice options, you can select which line items you want to include:

    • Plan

    • Discounts

    • Unbilled Metered Usage

    • Additional Order Lines

  6. You can also decide whether to process the transaction using an already configured payment method or if you want to allow the user to pay it manually.
