Axel explains that one of his customers wants to temporarily suspend his subscription. To accommodate his request, Linda shows Axel how to pause a subscription.

The suspension of a subscription has an impact if Automatic prorating is activated on the Corporate Name associated with this subscription. In this case, a credit note is generated on a pro rata basis for invoices already issued, and draft invoices are modified.
Suspending a subscription
Let's start with the following steps:
Steps
1. Go to the Subscription tab.
2. Open the subscription in question (it must be active).
3. First, click on the Suspend button.

or via the Status drop-down list:

and Save.
In the Life Cycle tab, enter the actual date on which the subscription will be interrupted. This is the date on which the subscription will be temporarily interrupted.
Then enter the resumption date sofactoapp__Date_reprise__c. This is the date on which the subscription will resume. If the field doesn't appear, add it to your page layout.

Change the Subscription Status back to “Active”.
Generate the billing schedule.
Result:
March and April draft invoices have been deleted
With the "Automatic prorating" option activated, a new draft invoice has been created on a pro rata basis for the period from 04/15/2026 to 04/30/2026.
Use Cases
To better understand the suspension of a subscription, let's take a look at different scenarios and observe the results:
Note: the "Automatic prorating" option is activated on the Corporate name.
Case 1: resume during the month = prorated invoice
On a monthly subscription Active from 01/01/2026 to 31/12/2026
January and February invoices have been issued, the following invoices are in draft status
Subscription is Interrupted, effective date of interruption is 01/04/2026
Subscription resumes mid-month, on 15/05/2026
The subscription has been changed back to Active and the schedule is regenerated
Result:
Draft invoices with a date prior to the Effective Interruption Date are retained
Draft invoices with a date greater than the Resumption Date, when the schedule is refreshed, are deleted and recreated
Draft invoices with a date between the effective date of interruption and the date of resumption are deleted:
The April draft invoice has been deleted
Draft invoices, whose date does not fall within a complete period, are prorated:
The dates of the May draft invoice are extended, from 15/05/2026 to 31/05/2026
Invoices issued with a previous billing period are not affected:
Invoices issued in January and February show no change

Case 2: Interruption of an issued invoice = creation of a credit note
On a monthly subscription Active from 01/01/2026 to 31/12/2026
January and February invoices have been issued, the following invoices are in draft status
Subscription is Interrupted, effective date of interruption is 31/01/2026
Subscription resumes on 01/04/2026
The subscription has been changed back to Active and the schedule is regenerated
Result:
Invoices issued after the effective date of interruption are credited. A pro rata or total credit invoice is created in draft status:
The invoice issued in February is kept
A draft credit invoice has been created corresponding to the cancellation of the invoice issued in February
Draft invoices with a date greater than the Resumption Date, when the schedule is refreshed, are deleted and recreated
Draft invoices with a date between the effective date of interruption and the date of resumption are deleted:
The April draft invoice has been deleted
Case 3: Adding a subscription line item
On a monthly subscription Active from 01/01/2026 to 31/12/2026
January and February invoices have been issued, the following invoices are in draft status
Subscription is Interrupted, effective date of interruption is 31/03/2026
Subscription resumes on 01/06/2026
The subscription has been changed back to Active and the schedule is regenerated
A subscription line item has been added and the schedule regenerated
Result:
Draft invoices with a date prior to the Effective Interruption Date are retained
Draft invoices with a date greater than the Resumption Date, when the schedule is regenerated, are deleted and recreated with the new subscription line item:
Draft invoices from 01/06/2026 to 31/12/2026 include a new invoice line item corresponding to this new subscription line item.
Draft invoices with a date between the effective date of interruption and the date of resumption are deleted:
April and May draft invoices have been deleted
Invoices issued with a previous billing period are not affected:
Invoices issued in January and February show no change
