Still discovering Frisbii's functionalities, Axel wants to know the different ways of invoicing in the application.

This time he wants to create an invoice from an Opportunity.
He joins a training session that Linda gives to Candace. The two discover this feature together.

Note: We have created a new opportunity, but the button Create Invoice is not displayed on the opportunity record right away. Before we begin, we will add the button on the page layout.

Adding the button Create Invoice

Please read the article Add Frisbii to your org to know how to add the Create invoice button to the opportunities.

Creating an invoice

Now that he can access the button, Axel can move on to billing the opportunity.

Steps

  1. From the current opportunity, click on the Create Invoice button.

  2. Then click on Confirm.

The invoice we just generated is in draft status, it appears on the associated list of the opportunity record and on the list view of the invoice object.

Creating a detailed invoice

Axel has generated an invoice, but actually he does not want to invoice all the opportunity products. He wonders how to take only some of the line items into consideration.

In the quotation and opportunity objects, it is possible, thanks to the Detailed Invoice functionality, to invoice only certain products.

Please find here the article concerning quotations Quotations - Invoicing from a quotation.

Now let's see how we can proceed from an opportunity.

Steps

  1. Click on the button Create Detailed Invoice.

Note: If you do not see the button on the page layout, you can follow the steps we saw in the beginning of this article.

  2. Verify the proposed information and fill in the missing details according to your needs.

  3. In order to create a partial invoice, the options are at your proposition :

    a) You can uncheck the invoice line items that you do not want to put on the invoice.

    b) You can change the quantity of the invoice line items, in order to invoice just some of the items and not all of the ordered products.

    c) You can use the field Percentage, in order to invoice only a percentage of the total amount of the invoice line item.

  4. Click on Confirm.

Once validated, we will find our detailed invoice on the associated list of our opportunity record.
